Qualification, Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor of Arts (English) Programme
1. Literature Lecturer– Full time
2. Linguistics Lecturer – Full time

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least a Master’s degree in relevant field (Linguistics or Literature) and Diploma or Certificate in Teaching/Education
  • OR BA in area of specialization (Pass with Distinction or Credit) and any relevant Master’s degree and Diploma or Certificate in Teaching/Education
  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching in higher or post-secondary education
  • Qualification for Teaching English as a Second/foreign Language will be an asset

Language Centre
1. English Language lecturer – Full time and part-time

Key Responsibilities

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

  • Ability to utilize modern technologies in education, student learning management systems and other virtual learning modes of delivery
  • Expertise in synchronous and asynchronous course delivery
  • Ability to teach courses in English Language (foundation English courses; Critical writing and argument; Technical Communication - Full-time and Part-time
  • Skills to promote critical thinking and reflective and self-correcting practice.
  • Commitment to adaptability and excellent communication and cultural competence, and the capacity to foster positive relationships
  • Commitment to work flexible hours (some courses require availability from 5-10pm)
  • Ability to collaborate well with teams of diverse lecturers and staff

 

Salary

SALARY SCALES: 

Lecturer - $345,209 - $518,309
Instructor - $304,602 - $467,527
